HEFFERNAN, Zoë (née Drury)
February 5, 1922 - September 14, 2015
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Zoë Heffernan (née Drury) who passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015, after a brief illness at the age of 93, at the Hawkesbury General Hospital, Hawkesbury, Ontario. Predeceased by her loving husband, David Heffernan (1993), Zoë leaves to mourn her beloved children Noreen (Robert Dauphinee), Carolyn (Alex Kitzanuk), Cheryl (Bill Ridenour), and Drury (Suzanne Eve). Also grieving are her treasured grandchildren Melany and Kery Heffernan, Cynthia McLeod, Michael Dauphinee, Luke Kitzanuk and Alexis Kitzanuk Reid. She will be missed by her precious great-grandchildren Alexia and Olivier Ste. Marie, Benjamin and Samuel Kitzanuk, Zoë and Brooke Reid, and Lexie and Roméo Heffernan. She will be remembered for her great love of family, sense of humour, joie de vivre, sparkling blue eyes, and her gift for making others feel important. Zoë was always up for adventure, especially if it was spontaneous. Loved and was loved, she will be deeply missed. A private family service was held. Special thanks to Dr. Leonard Welik of the Hudson MediCentre, NOVA Hudson, and Hawkesbury General Hospital. Donations in Zoë's memory to NOVA Hudson, 465 Main Rd., suite 202, Hudson, QC J0P 1H0 are greatly appreciated.

What an incredible woman...what an incredible life!
I hope we can all experience in our later years even a little of what Zoe did...
- schlepping around in a trailer in her 80's
- living with various loving family members
- watching her favourite shows with Zan (Downton Abbey??)
- doting grandchildren
and so so so much more!
ALL her most basic needs were met with love and attention until the very end...
What a compliment to her family, who will miss her dearly.
My sincere condolences to all who loved her.
