Donald E. Gosdeck

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Donald E. Gosdeck, 72, of Bluffton, Ohio, passed away at 6:46 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, Ohio. He was born on July 24, 1945, in Appleton, Wis., to the late Herbert and Dorothy (Vanderwyst) Gosdeck. He married Kathy von Stein on May 31, 1996, and she survives.
Don is also survived by his daughters, Michelle (Tor) Cowan of Arlington, Va., Pam Rau of Bay City and Stacy (Dave) Bitter of Milwaukee, Wis.; his twin brother, Ron (Teri) Gosdeck of Tavares, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; stepson, Jeff (Michelle) Kusowski of Seattle, Wash.; stepdaughter, Kris (Pete) Buege of Garden Grove, Calif.; brother-in-law, Bob von Stein of Lilliwaup, Wash.; and sister-in-law, Ann Gosdeck of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Gosdeck; his brother, Herb Gosdeck; and a brother-in-law, Tim von Stein. "Mr. G" was a beloved teacher, coach and friend to many in his 30 plus years at St. Stephen Lutheran School in Adrian. He was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, grilling, reading, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, with pastors Alois Schmitzer III and Matthew Nowak officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Jenera.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, as well as one hour (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.) prior to the service at the church.
