Tecumseh - Frances Marie Aiuto Murphy age 89, of Tecumseh formerly of Clinton passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Cambrian Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 8, 1931 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Vito and Mary (Puleo) Aiuto. On April 21, 1951 she married Jerry Murphy. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage prior to Jerry's death on April 11, 1999.
Frances was a 1949 Clinton High School graduate. She worked at Clinton Schools for 21 years and was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Drives for 20 years. She treasured family get togethers and could always be found at her children's and grandchildren's sporting and school events.
Frances is survived by a son, Paul (Barbara) Murphy of Jackson; two daughters, Anna Marie (Tom) Kanitz of Britton and Teresa Murphy of Chelsea; daughter-in-law, Jane Murphy of Clinton; six grandchildren TJ (Mistie) Murphy, Jennifer (Matt) Barber, Kyle (Jenn) Murphy, Krystal Kanitz, Renae Murphy and Carl Murphy; nine great grandchildren, Tim III, Katie, Sawyer, Ashlyn, Paisley, Kennedy, Paul, Taylor and Chase. Besides her parents and husband, Jerry, she was preceded in death by her son Timothy Murphy, grandson, Brian Kanitz, and brothers, Bart, Sam and Russell.
Visitation for Frances will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with a Prayer Service at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Thursday at St. Dominic Catholic Oratory in Clinton with Fr. Peter Clark as celebrant with visitation from 10 am until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Dominic Cemetery in Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or Alzheimer's Association
