Jane Waldo Obituary

HUDSON - Jane Marie Waldo, 87, of Hudson, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at Brookdale of Adrian. Born Aug. 19, 1930, in Newport, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary J. (Kohlmann) Korte. A graduate of Hudson High School, she continued her education at Siena Heights University and at Wayne State University. She served as a lifelong educator, teaching locally and abroad.
Jane married the love of her life, Rondel L. Waldo, on Dec. 27, 1958, in Hudson, and they celebrated over 54 years together before his death on June 23, 2013. A proud military wife, Jane traveled across the States and abroad, accompanying her husband during his career as a serviceman. Catholic by faith, Jane was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Hudson. Along with her faith, Jane was dedicated to serving others through her volunteer work with the Girl Scouts, Altar Rosary Society, various women's clubs, Siena Heights University and the Red Cross to name a few.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Jo (Joseph) Bruneau of Midland, Mich., Martha Waldo of Adrian and Margaret Jean "Meg" Waldo of Appleton, Wis.; a son, John (Teresa) Waldo of Auburn, Wash.; one sister, Wilma (Richard) Bade of Hudson; a brother, Donald Korte of Portage, Mich.; six grandchildren, Nicholas (Bobae), Anthony (Nicole), and Bridget Bruneau, and Andrew, Abigail and Jacob Waldo; one great granddaughter, Aurora Bruneau. Also survived by brother-in-law, Donald Klocke of Adrian.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann; sister, Alice Klocke, and sister-in-law, Marjorie Korte.
A Funeral Mass for the soul of Jane Waldo will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, to be celebrated by the Rev. Tomy Kattikanayil. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Hudson. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson. Memorial contributions in honor of Jane are suggested to be given to Hospice of Lenawee or the Rondel and Jane Waldo Scholarship at Siena Heights University. My condolences to the family of Jane. Jane was President of Siena Heights Alumni Association (1983) the year before me. She was very diligent in preparing me for my year as President; and I thoroughly enjoyed her company.

Mrs Jane Waldo was very great woman and person just loved her and lost touch after her being my adult ed teacher in adult ed. Jane was my teacher and friend talked to me many times with advise and incouragement which helped me alot. Jane will truely be missed.
