Sharon McDowell Obituary
She was born April 4, 1952, in Adrian to Melvin L. and Betty J. (Fletcher) Betz. On Aug. 28, 1971, she married Donald "Jack" Frederick in Seneca. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1997. Then on March 14, 2003, she married Jim McDowell in Sand Creek, and he survives.
Sharon retired from Morenci Area Schools where she was the food service director. She then worked at County National Bank in Hudson. Sharon adored her children and grandchildren and loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family.
Surviving Sharon is her mother, Betty Jane Betz of Morenci; her husband, Jim McDowell of Morenci; a daughter, Amy (Chuck) Price of Morenci; two sons, Bradley Frederick of Morenci, David (Katie) Frederick of Tecumseh; stepchildren, Mac (Michele) McDowell of Clover, S.C.; Molly (Brian) McDowell of Morenci; a sister, Debbie (Rod) Rutledge of Biloxi, Miss.; a brother, Greg (Roberta) Betz of Morenci; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and her first husband, Jack.
Funeral services for Sharon McDowell will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, with Robert Loar officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.

I first met Sharon while serving as principal at Morenci Elementary. Sharon was such a kind and caring person with a heart for others. She truly loved and adored her grandchildren and others children. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during your time of great loss.

I will always remember Sharon as cousin who was a great role model. She always had a witty remark to make me smile under any somber situation. She was a great cook and always brought a special comfort dish to all occasions.
My deepest sympathies to her entire family and hope that her legacy carries her lovely spirit in their hearts. God be with you all.
