Lorraine E. Frounfelter

1932 - 2025

Lorraine E. Frounfelter 92 years old, of Lewistown, Montana, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Caslen's Assisted Living Home.

Lorraine E. Gaulrapp was born in Wheaton, Minnesota, to George and Mary Gaulrapp. She married Gordon Hill of Morris, MN, and they had five children during their 11 years of marriage. After their divorce, Lorraine moved back to Wheaton with her children. She was deeply grateful to her brother and sister, who lived nearby and helped care for some of the children during that time.

Lorraine worked alongside her mother at a local restaurant, where she honed her skills in baking, particularly making delicious pies and caramel rolls. In October 1959, Lorraine married Gary Frounfelter, and shortly after, they moved to Glendive, MT, and later to Lewistown, MT. Lorraine worked at JC Penny, Safeway, and retired after 20 years from the State Home for the Aged in Lewistown.

She was a gifted seamstress, known for her beautiful embroidery and cooking. Lorraine's greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she cherished the love and support they shared. She is survived by her five children: Douglas (Judy) Hill, Susan (Ken) Schaaf, Gordie (Melinda) Hill, Rick (Debbie) Hill, and Nancy (Todd) Phillips. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Frounfelter, her parents, and four siblings.

Memorial services for Lorraine will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. Margee Smith will be officiating.
