Myrna Jo Bauman Mintyala, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 at the age of 85. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Myrna was born in Great Falls, Montana, on March 31, 1940, to Joseph "Duke" and Astrid "Ot" Bauman. In 1942, her family moved to Jordan, Montana, where she spent her early childhood before settling in Lewistown in 1951 following her parents' purchase of Eddie's Corner. Myrna graduated from Fergus High School in 1958 and pursued her training at beauty school in Bozeman. After graduation, she returned to Lewistown and began her career at Gladys's Beauty Salon.
On December 3, 1961, Myrna married the love of her life, Dick Mintyala. Together they built a life rooted in hard work, love, and family. The couple spent several years in Federal Way, Washington, where they worked and started raising their children before returning to Lewistown in 1974. That same year, they opened Central Montana Yamaha, which they owned and operated until 2005.
Throughout her life, Myrna held a variety of jobs, including Eagles Manor, Taco Time, and the State Home; but she was best known in her later years for her work at Eddie's Corner, where she spent 15 years cooking and visiting with customers. After retiring from Eddie's Corner, Myrna found great joy as a driver for the Amish community around Moore. This role became one of her favorites, as those she served quickly became like extended family.
Myrna was truly the rock of the Mintyala family. She was always there with love, encouragement, and support, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dick Mintyala; her siblings Dick, Doug (Charla), Leslie (Jim) Barnett, and Joe (Laurie); her children Lynn Mintyala (Cindy), Christine Trapp Merrill (Barry), and Jay Mintyala (Sandi); her grandchildren Lyndi (Tony Oien), Richard (Samantha Mintyala), Kasey, Samantha, Molly (Josh Espinoza), Kyle, Paige, Kody and Alex (Jared); her great-grandchildren Hailey, Zoey, Annika, Jordan, Damon, Cruze, Roczen, Axton, and Walker; and her great-great-grandchild Haydon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Duke and Astrid Bauman as well as siblings Don and Barb (Hall).
Myrna's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
