Ruth Ann "Ruthie" McNeil

1936 - 2025

Ruthie Ann McNeil, aged 89, passed away on July 27, 2025, in Lewistown, Montana. Born on April 23, 1936 in Lewistown, Ruth led a life marked by gentleness, kindness, and a gracious strength that endeared her to all who knew her.

Ruth attended Venice High School in California before pursuing higher education at UCLA. Her career path included roles at Prudential Insurance and many years co-owning Kitches Cheese Store, where she was well-respected for her work ethic and dedication.

In addition to her professional life, Ruthie had a unique array of hobbies. She cherished her pets, which included Yorkie dogs, a cat, and even a pet porcupine. She loved reading the Bible and playing cribbage every day with Bob. She loved visiting their property in the Little Snowies, " rocky top" her favorite.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Robert McNeil of 55 years of marriage, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethyl, her brothers Art, David, Virgil, Roy, Mick, Jack, and Jesse, and her sisters Hazel and Leona.

Cremation has taken place, and no formal memorial is planned.

Ruth's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and the deep connections she forged with those around her. Her legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
