Sherry Dawn Reimers

1944 - 2025

Sherry Dawn (Funk) Reimers, 81, passed away December 1, 2025. Sherry was born at Provo, Utah, on September 21, 1944, to John Willis Funk and Donna Margaret Evans Funk. She attended school in Provo, graduating from Provo High in 1962. Upon graduation, she began work as a legal secretary for the Provo City Attorney.

Sherry moved to Salt Lake City in 1965 and then on to San Francisco, CA where she worked in the Legal Dept. for Southern Pacific Railroad. While living in California, she met her future husband, Stephen Reimers, stationed at Moffett Field. They married on September 9, 1972, after Steve was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy.

Once Steve received his degree in 1974 from Foothill College, they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, where they purchased a small hobby farm, and raised their three children, Zachary, Kristina and Jacob. Steve taught auto shop, and once the children were in school, Sherry worked for the County Attorney.

In 1998, they moved to the Judith Mountains near Lewistown, Montana, then to Great Falls, where Steve taught at CMR until 2008, at which time they retired back to the Judiths and built their final home. They became snowbirds to southern Utah for three winters. Sherry loved the mountains, gardening, canning, baking, and all the magnificent wildlife surrounding their canyon home. In February 2016, Steve passed away suddenly, requiring Sherry to sell their home and move into Lewistown.

Her final years were spent among wonderful friends and neighbors at Fountain Terrace, together with her beloved "Church Ladies Lunch Group". Sherry was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had a strong testimony of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved the Gospel with all her heart. She had a love of family history and spent hundreds of hours helping index records from around the world.

Sherry is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Reimers; parents; grandparents; great-granddaughter, Layla Dawn Eccles (7/14/21- 10/6/21); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sherry is survived by her sister, Katherine Funk of Salt Lake City, UT; three children, Zachary Reimers, Kristina (Reimers) Johnson, and Jacob (Anna) Reimers; eight grandchildren, Alexus Johnson-Eccles (Sam Eccles), Deshaun Ayers, Millani Gray, Carson Reimers, Olivia Reimers, Benson Reimers, Zoey Reimers, and Macy Reimers; and great-granddaughter, Madeline Anne Eccles.

Funeral Services will be held in Lewistown at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Saturday, December 20, 2025, 11:00 a.m. A private committal service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations are requested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
