Brad Williams Obituary

Brad Williams

September 14, 1943 - November 19, 2025

Brad Williams, 82, of Johnson Lake, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Lexington Regional Health Center.

He was born on September 14, 1943, in Holdrege, Nebraska. His father was a pharmacist, so he went to school in several towns before moving to Lexington, Nebraska. He attended Lexington Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1961.

He moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, and was employed by General Excavating for 25 years. While living there, he married Jill Givens, who was also working there. A wonderful marriage of 42 years ensued. He was the love of her life as she was his. It was very unusual to see them apart when they did fun things together. They lived in Lincoln for several years and then decided to move to Osage Beach, Missouri, in 1993. He worked for the landscaping department building the Old Kinderhook Golf Course. Brad loved yardwork as well as being creative in his work experience at Old Kinderhook. They lived on the lake there and had great stories to tell about the friends they had made and their excursions on the lake.

They moved to Lexington, Nebraska, in 2001 to be of assistance to their aging parents and built a home on Johnson Lake. They enjoyed being there and were able to boat, be involved in other water sports, play golf, and become close friends with their neighbors at the Lake. It was rewarding to see and become friends with those they had known in the past, as well as all the wonderful people in Bass Bay. He called himself the "doctor of dirt" since that was his all-time business. He did lots of work for Dan McCandless on the backhoe as well as working with his father-in-law, Paul. Brad was quite the comedian - one of his favorite expressions was "Dyn-o-mite!" He always had his friends laughing and telling stories.

After retiring, they owned several recreational vehicles and spent the winter months in Arizona. They loved that life and became friends with lots of travelers.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington.

He is survived by his wife, Jill; brother Barry Williams and niece Tara Williams, her husband Matt and daughter Avery; Jill's sister, Robyn Mowery, nephew and niece, Stuart Mowery and wife Kellie and children, Mason and Zoe; niece Sarah Rothenberg and her husband Gary, as well as their children, Van and Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold (Dutch) and Mildred Williams; his in-laws, Paul and Janice Givens; and brother-in-law, Dave Mowery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with Reverend Eddie Mariel, officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the First Presbyterian Church website.

Interment will be held after the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the Lexington Community Foundation, or Donor's choice.
