Larry Puls

February 15, 1948 - August 23, 2025

Larry J. Puls, 77, of Lexington, Neb., passed away peacefully in his sleep from cancer on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Ridgeway Senior Living in Lexington.

Larry was born on February 15, 1948, in Elwood, Neb., to Leonard and Evelyn Puls, the third of four boys. He attended school in Elwood. Larry worked several construction jobs in his youth, settling at Remmenga Well Drilling for eleven years.

He was united in marriage to Dee Slater on July 11, 1969, to which two children were born. Fred Puls and wife, Angela and Kate Garcia and husband, Tracy. Larry worked for thirty-three years at Platte Valley Auto completing many courses to be a certified technician in both Ford and Chrysler.

Larry loved to work on vehicles. A learning process completed with many hours of tests and training to become a Master Technician. Larry loved to grill and smoke sausage. He enjoyed camping any time the weather permitted and took the grandkids whenever possible. Larry always took great pride in his yard, with straight mowed lines, and his garden were always well tended.

Left to mourn their loss is his wife, Dee; son, Fred (Angela), and daughter, Kate (Tracy); grandchildren, Julieann Puls and fiancé Sam Perry, Chase Garrett and fiancé Lily Fischer; two brothers, Jerry (Margaret) Puls, and Tom (Margo) Puls; sisters-in-law, Theresa Puls and Kay Maloley of Omaha; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Terry "TP" Puls; and his aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Burial will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, following the visitation at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department or to Elwood Volunteer Fire Department.
