Roger Jensen Obituary

Roger Jensen

January 2, 1953 - February 24, 2026

Roger Jensen, 73, of Lexington, Neb., peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in Omaha at The Hospice House-The Josie Harper Residence.

Roger Wayne Jensen was born January 2, 1953, in Lexington, Neb., at the Community Hospital to Anton and Alta Jensen. He attended country school at district 16, west of Lexington until the family moved into town. He then attended Bryan Elementary School, Lexington Junior High, and graduated from Lexington Senior High School in 1971.

He was a very hard worker all his life. He spent most of his life in the Ag world working in feed/grain and fertilizer. He spent his retirement years working part time for the City of Lexington.

Roger loved playing golf, pitch, duck hunting, doing yard work, going to coffee with his friends, and spending time with his family. He was a true busy body. He really enjoyed coaching his children's softball and baseball teams.

Fun fact, he was a very good whistler which he learned from his mom, Alta. He also loved his oldies music!

Roger met his wife, Sandy, in Lexington after Sandy graduated Nursing School and moved to Lexington. They were married April 15, 1978, and made their home in Lexington, Neb., where they raised their two children, Amy (Corey) Anderson and Ryan (LaTisha) Jensen.

Roger was very proud of his family and loved spending time with them in Omaha, Neb.

Roger never met a stranger, and we always say he had the gift of gab! He always had a joke to tell and loved giving family and friends nicknames. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Roger is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Corey Anderson of Omaha; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and LaTisha Jensen of Omaha; grandchildren, Brissa and Soren Jensen of Omaha; brother, Bill (Nancy) Jensen of Lexington, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; parents, Anton and Alta Jensen; his brother, Allen Jensen, and his grandparents, John and Bertha Warner, and Soren and Andrea Jensen.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating.

Inurnment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, west of Lexington.

A Memorial Book Signing with family present will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
