Ron Schultz, age 82, of Ulysses, KS passed away on January 20, 2026, at Western Prairie Senior Living, in Ulysses, KS. Born January 17, 1944, in Lexington, NE, the son of Lewis Edward and Anna Kristine (Bailey) Schultz.
Ron was born and raised in Lexington, NE, where he attended local schools and spent his early years working at the local grocery store. On May 24, 1964, Ron married his childhood sweetheart, Judy Dishman, together they shared 61 beautiful years. He served as a shop foreman at Fairbanks Int'l, and throughout his life worked in many roles. He owned and operated Ron's Tree Service. He also worked at Latters Dairy and Fairmont Foods L.E. Schultz & Sons Distribution. No matter the job, Ron was a hardworking man, known for his dedication, reliability, and willingness to lend a hand. He was a longtime member of Lexington Assembly of God Church, his faith was an important part of his life. In 2015, Ron and Judy relocated to Ulysses, KS to be near their daughter, Veronica and their grandchildren, Calvin and Carly. He enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, wood carving, and metal detecting. He especially loved spending time in the Colorado mountains, where he found peace and joy outdoors.
Ron was a devoted family man. He deeply loved his daughter, grandchildren and siblings, took great joy in his dogs, and cherished time spent with those he loved. Above all, he deeply loved his wife, Judy, who was his constant companion and source of strength.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Veronica Spencer and husband Tim of Ulysses, KS; grandson, Calvin Cole and wife Joseline of Olathe, KS; granddaughter, Carly Straus and husband Bryan of Hortonville, WI; brothers, Lewis Schultz, Jr and wife Nancy of Cortez, CO, Gary Schultz and wife Edna of Lexington, NE; sister in law, Audry Schultz of Manor, TX. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Patty Pickering and husband Lonnie, Georgia Ann Tappan and husband George; four brothers, Glenn Hawks and wife JoAnne, Bob Hawks and wife Genie, Jerry Schultz and wife Carole, and Terry Schultz; and his son-in-law, Jerry S. Cole, Jr.
