LIMA -- Carl Bucher, 85, of Lima passed away at 3:10 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born on December 30, 1939, in Lima to Marvin and Julia (McNett) Bucher, who both preceded him in death. On March 25, 1961, he married Linda "Penny" (Werking) Bucher, who preceded him in death.
Carl graduated from Lima Senior High School. He retired from the City of Lima Street Department. He was a lifelong member of First Evangelical & Reformed Church, where he and Penny were dedicated members and kept the historic church building cleaned, polished and decorated for seasonal holidays. Carl enjoyed playing golf at Springbrook, woodworking and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.
Surviving are his children Robert Bucher, Sarah (Tim) Stidham and John (Teresa) Bucher; his grandchildren Cody Stidham, Casey (Kylee) Stidham, Colton Bucher and Brooke Conley; his great-grandchildren Canaan and Lorelai Stidham. Also surviving are his sister Beverly (Edwin) Rhoades; his sister-in-law Wanda Werking and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Bucher; his brother Hugh Bucher; his brother-in-law Richard Werking; his sister-in-law Ann Bucher.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at First Evangelical & Reformed Church, 320 W. Wayne Street, Lima.
Rev. Wanda Werking will officiate the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Evangelical & Reformed Church.
A private committal service will be held sometime in the near future at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to thank the staffs at St. Rita's and The Springs of Lima for their care.

Carl and l had several years of playing golf together a couple times a week at lost creek and springbrook golf course. He loved to play golf.
