CHARLES E. PEFFER

MECHANICSBURG, Penn. — Charles E. Peffer, 88, died in Mechanicsburg, PA on April 6, 2017, surrounded by his family. Charles was born November 19, 1928 in Erie, PA to the Carl and Clara (Goetz) Peffer. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother, Eleanor and Jack. Survivors include two sons: Joseph of Harrisburg, PA and Frank and wife, Kelly, of Selinsgrove, PA; four grandchildren, Alexa, Joshua, Brianna and Zachary; great-granddaughter, Adra Stamey; two sisters, Mary Burdett of Lima and Helen Young of Portland, OR; and many nieces and nephews. Charles graduated from St. Rose High School in Lima, St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN, and Penn State University. Charles was a petroleum engineer for Mobil Oil and while engaged in oil exploration for Mobil, had many overseas assignments, including Peru, Nigeria, Scotland and other countries. Before retiring near his sons, Charles lived in Carrollton, TX. There will be a service on April 21 at Buhrig Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg, PA. Burial of cremated remains will occur at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Erie, PA.
