Cheryl Maddy

1949 - 2022

Cheryl D. Maddy, 73, of Wapakoneta, died 11:19 p.m., Sun. Oct. 30, 2022, at Mercy Health –St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, with her family at her side. She was born Aug. 18, 1949, in Lima, the daughter of the late Virgil & Darlene (Bok) Coffman. On June 4, 1982, she married William D. England, and he died March 11, 2006. Then on March 7, 2007, she married Robert M. "Bob" Maddy, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2018.

Survivors include, 3 children, Aaron (Kathi) Stephens, Harrod, OH, Brad (Derek Ruen) Stephens, Lima, Carrie (Mark) Swob, New Bremen, OH; grandchildren, Hayley & David, Jacob, Summer & Justin, Dalton, Jacob, Siera & Trent, Sam, Andrew; great grandchildren, Adalynn, Adrian, Jaxx, Emmalyn, Camdyn, Nora, Barrett, Avalynn, Elliott; a sister, Deb (Glenn) Corbett, Pensacola, FL; a former husband, Gary L. Stephens, Delphos, OH.

Cheryl retired as a materials manager at American Trim, Lima, after 24 years of service. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, and the Y.M.C.A., both of Wapakoneta. She was a 1967 graduate of Lima Senior High School, and a graduate of Rhodes State University. Cheryl's hobbies included playing cards, reading, baking, and caring for her cats, Daisy Mae and Sassy. Her happiest moments were spent with her family and in her garden.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Fri. Nov. 4, 2022, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Kenny Rader officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Thurs. Nov. 3, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Auglaize Co.
