Christopher Volbert

1990 - 2021

LIMA — Christopher "Boog" G. Volbert, age 31, passed away September 4, 2021, at 1:52 pm, at the Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center. Chris was born March 10, 1990, in Lima, OH, to Shawn M. and Joan H. (Mangette) Volbert who survives in Lima.

Chris was a 2008 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. After high school he attended UNOH where he earned an associates degree in H-VAC. He then began working with Sodexo where he had worked for the last 5 years. Chris loved beating his grandma at cards and he enjoyed playing golf and hanging out with the "Lads". He loved dogs of all types especially his dog "Poncho".

In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his paternal grandparents, George and Annette Volbert of Lima, OH, his maternal grandparents, Francis and Nancy Mangette of Lima, OH, his siblings: Shawn (Katrina VanHorn) Volbert Jr. of Lima, OH, Matthew (Sarah Steffan) Volbert of Lima, OH, Abigail (Juan) Nicolas of Cridersville, OH and Caroline Volbert of Lima, OH, a niece, Paisley Nicolas and his extended family: several aunts, uncles and many cousins and many good friends.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Rose Catholic Church. Officiating the mass will be Fr. David Ross. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery following the service.

Friends may visit on Tuesday from 3-8 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the ICU doctors, nurses and staff at Mercy-Health St. Rita's Medical Center for the excellent care and compassion given to Chris and his family during this difficult time. They also ask that those attending the funeral to please wear a golf shirt and khaki shorts in honor of Chris.
