CLARK HASSAN
CELINA — Clark A. Hassan, 70, 213 East Wayne Street, Celina, Ohio passed away 12:55 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
Clark was born March 3, 1947 in Celina, Ohio, the son of Paul A. and Rhoda (Rosa) Hassan. On September 10, 1966 he married Sue (Candler) Hassan in St. Anthony's Church, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Clark and Sue had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Clark is survived by his wife in Celina; 3 sons: Marc (Christine Chambers) Hassan, St. Marys, Ohio; Jamie (Lica Paguirigan Colwell) Hassan, Charleston, South Carolina; Jeffrey and his wife Kerrie (Donovan) Hassan, Cypress, Texas; 4 grandchildren: Nicholas Clark Hassan, Jackson Robert Hassan, Kyrsten (Adam Rossbach) Chambers, and Lillian Colwell. He is also survived by one sister, Pam (Willis Gilleo) Homan, Celina, Ohio, and his mother-in-law, Bea Candler, in Columbus Grove, Ohio.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Madeline Hassan, and a sister, Sue Ellen (Mike) Wagner.
He graduated from Celina Senior High School in 1965, and attended Ball State, and Ohio State University. Clark worked in agriculture and accounting his entire life, having owned a hog farm, worked as an accountant at Fruehauf in Delphos, Ohio, sold Stormor and Harvestore storage systems, was the former Manager of MAH Garden Center, in Celina, and most recently worked at H&R Block with Andy Green in Celina.
Clark was also an avid sports fan, religiously followed the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals football teams, and, inexplicably, loved Bobby Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers basketball teams. He also coached his sons in many of their Little League baseball and football games, including the "Greatest Little League Football Game Ever Played" when the Empire Giants beat the Lions 2-0 in a driving rain, after which both teams gathered together to watch Lions' coach Larry Miller burn his beloved hat to fulfill a bet made before the game.
A visitation to celebrate the life of Clark will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street Chapel, St. Marys, Ohio. All are invited to share stories and remembrances of the joy Clark brought to their lives during this time of fellowship with the Hassan Family.
