LIMA -- Daniel Simmons Sr., 65, of Lima passed away Friday, March 17, 2023.
Daniel was born on January 2, 1958 in Lima, Ohio to the late Doyle and Evelyn (Webb) Simmons. He married his soulmate Thelma Ruch on October 22, 1982 in the Trinity United Methodist Church and she survives in Lima. Also surviving are his loving children William Ruch, Daniel Simmons Jr and Matthew Simmons all of Lima; a special son Clyde Moore; grandson: Clyde Ian Moore; siblings: Darla Butler of Lima, Hoyt (Andrew) Simmons of Columbus, Denise Simmons of Columbus and Tina (Rich) Marlatt of Lima; daughter in law Carol Kellough and a host of loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Christopher Simmons, a sister Deborah Tallman and a brother-in-law Marty Butler.
Daniel was a 1977 graduate of Lima Senior High School and enjoyed working on cars, fishing and playing a good game of spades. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Daniel had a heart of gold. He was the type of individual who would help anyone in a time of need. Most of all Daniel loved his family, he always made sure everyone was going well with daily phone calls with his family and cherished the family gathering he had with them.
Visitation for Daniel will be on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm in the Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima, Ohio,45805. Additional visitation will be on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of his Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Family requests those attending to dress casually.
