Darren Slone

1966 - 2022

DELPHOS -- Darren L. Slone, age 56, passed away February 23, 2022, at 7:06 pm, at the Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center. Darren was born February 18, 1966, in Lima, OH, to Ervin L. Slone and Barbara S. (Collins) Slone-Vanatta who both preceded him in death. On June 14, 1986, he married Melissa L. (Murphy) Slone who preceded him in death on May 1, 2019.

Darren was a 1984 graduate of Allen East High School. He had also attended the Institute of Therapeutic Massage where he earned a certificate in medical massage therapy. He worked in this field for a short time. Darren was working as a technical representative for Johnson Controls for the last 26 years until his recent illness. Darren loved traveling, fishing and hunting.

Darren is survived by his daughter, Amanda M. Slone of Lima, OH and his son, Justin D. Slone of Lima, OH, a brother, Trevor (Jennifer) Slone of Canton, OH, a sister, Karen (Lewis) Rutherford of Harrod, OH, his fiance, Brenda Mason of Lima, OH and his step-father Ray Vanatta of Murfreesboro, TN.

There will be a funeral service held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Pastor David Coffey. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery following the service.

Friends may visit on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and then again from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Tuesday all at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
