Dave and Sally made it a point to spend quality time with their loved ones and friends when they would travel back home to Ohio. Family was of utmost importance, and they made sure that every moment would count. Their travels each summer were long and arduous, but they made the trip to each one of their children's homes to visit and make memories. He was an avid Ohio State and Lions fan and despite the season's record, he would proudly sport their attire and watch every game.
Dave had a wicked sense of humor and he used that to diffuse tense situations or just to get a rise out of someone simply because he could. When Dave, Charlie, and Jeff were together there were constant jokes and razzing of one another.
Dave was the bond that pulled people together and would become an instant mentor in times of crisis or unease. His kindness and humor will be fond memories for anyone that knew and loved him.
