Send FlowersLIMA -- It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David "Dave" Brown, who left us peacefully at the age of 70 on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
He was born July 21, 1955, in Lima to Richard and Armella (Recker) Brown who preceded him in death. On December 19, 2006, he married Constance J. Scott who survives.
Also surviving are children: Erik Brown of Lima, Sarah (Randall) Verhoff of Vaughnsville, Drew Brown of Lima and Joshua (Sarah) Beery of Lima; grandchildren, Madison (Will), Zane, Emma, Patrick, Raileigh, Lincoln, Ryleigh, Savannah and Elijah; great-grandchildren: Liam and one on the way; siblings, Greg (Tami) Brown and Jeff Brown both of Lima, Chris (James) Richardson of Ramah, CO.
Dave was a devoted husband, a proud father, a doting grandfather, and a friend to everyone lucky enough to know him. Born with a gift for connecting with people, Dave spent more than 40 years working as a wine salesman, a career he excelled in not just because of his work ethic, but because of his genuine interest in others. Before that chapter of his life, he worked in old-time photography, an experience he often reflected on with humor and fondness. No matter the job, Dave brought the same warmth, charm, and honesty that defined him.
Dave cherished his wife, Connie, the love of his life and constant partner. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, kindness, and unwavering support. He was immensely proud of his sons, Erik and Drew, and nothing lit up his world more than his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and he loved them with a full and generous heart.
A great man in every sense, Dave will be remembered for his quick wit, his easy smile, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. He had a talent for storytelling, a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures, and a steadfast loyalty to the people he loved.
Dave leaves behind a legacy of compassion, humor, and love-one that will continue to live on through the family and friends who will miss him dearly.
May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
His service will begin at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. His visitation will follow in the funeral home until 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
