KALIDA – David G. "Dave" Wehri, 66, of Kalida, passed away at 8:34 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Mercy Health Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. He was born July 22, 1956 in Lima to Johnny and Helen (German) Wehri. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Kalida. On October 9, 1976, he married Mary Ann Recker, who survives in Kalida.
Other survivors include four children: Steve (Christine) Wehri of Columbus Grove, Sheila (Shawn) Koenig of McComb, Renee (Eric) Steffen of Glandorf, and Andrea (Doug) Giesige of Glandorf; nine grandchildren: Evan Wehri, Brayden Wehri, Brooke Koenig, Zack Koenig, Colin Steffen, Autumn Steffen, Abby Giesige, Brian Giesige and Megan Giesige; a sister, Carol (Glenn) Miehls of McComb; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Dave was a lifelong farmer and self-employed excavator and truck driver. He always enjoyed a game of cards and a good conversation. He loved to joke around with people. Dave loved spending time with his family, especially fishing in the pond with his grandchildren.
Funeral mass will begin 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2022 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Nathan Bockrath officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township.
