WAYNESFIELD -- Donald O. Zimmerman, 84, of Waynesfield, OH passed away early Friday, May 27, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
Don was born on July 22, 1937, in Lima, OH, a son of the late Ralph and Louise Coolidge Zimmerman.
Don married Rita Miller on June 7, 1956, in Jeffersonville, IN and she survives. He is also survived by their three children, Jerry (Roger) Zimmerman of Harrod, OH, Vicki Zimmerman, and David (Renee) Zimmerman, both of Waynesfield, five grandchildren, Brooks (Chelsea) Zimmerman, Brittaney (Ryan) Clouse, Breigh-Anne (Colby) Shobe, Kylan (Gaige) Hennon, and Brynna (Keaton) Fetter, 13 great grandchildren, Lane Shobe, Olivia Shobe, Ava Shobe, Paisley Hennon, Caide Hennon, Jentry Hennon, Remington Clouse, Chaney Zimmerman, Quinn Zimmerman, Banks Zimmerman, Carter Fetter, Mason Fetter, and Ella Fetter, his twin brother, Ronald (Loretta) Zimmerman of Waynesfield, and his canine companion, Corky.
Don was a 1955 graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Don's working career span 45 years beginning at Neon Products, which later became Otis-Wright and then worked at Plastipak from where he retired. He then went to work at Prairie View Golf Club in Waynesfield for another 19 years. Don was a charter member of Doyle R. Miller Amvet Post #39 in Lakeview, and 55 years member of Wapakoneta Eagles Aeries #691. Don was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, and played trumpet in a band for many years. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
A celebration of Don's life will be held at Prairie View Golf Club on July 22, 2022, starting at 5:00 pm.

My deepest sympathy to the Zimmerman families. My fondest memories of Donnie and Ronnie was as a little girl when they were our babysitters when we lived in Holden. RIP Donnie.
