LEIPSIC — Donna L. Shoemaker, 89, died at 5:10 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2021 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born May 13, 1932 in Belmore to the late Donald and Ruth (Fry) Swaninger. On January 24, 1950, she married William Shoemaker. He died July 16, 1996.
Survivors include four grandchildren: Nikisha (Lee) Fackler of Leipsic, Brittany (J.T.) Pianetta of Anacortes, WA, Kiana (Carlos Perez) Shoemaker of Hazelton, PA and Tyler (Amanda) Fredritz of Findlay; eight great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jane (Joel) Radabaugh of Findlay; a brother, Gary Swaninger of Ottawa; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Swaninger of Montague, MI.
She was also preceded in death by three sons: Steve Shoemaker, Randy Shoemaker and Mark Shoemaker; a brother, Rex Swaninger; and a sister, Virginia Swaninger.
Donna retired after 35 years as an EMT with the Leipsic EMS. She was a member of First Christian Church, Leipsic, Leipsic American Legion Auxiliary, Leipsic VFW Auxiliary and Leipsic Eagles. Donna had been on the West Leipsic Council for 15 years and Putnam County Board of Elections for 41 years.
Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Tim Eding officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be given to Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program (CAP).

Gary, I am so sorry to hear of Donna's passing and send my sympathy. I know how close you two were. So sorry for your loss.
I don't know if you knew but my Gene passed away on Sept. 20th.
