HARROD -- Earl Dean Frasure, Sr., 83, of Harrod, OH, passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 10, 1942, in Floyd County, KY, he was the son of the late Robert Earl Frasure and Doris G. Davis. Earl grew up in West Newton, OH and the surrounding areas with a firm understanding of hard work and staying true to his word.
From an early age, Earl understood how to repair things from cars to machinery and quickly gained the reputation as a talented mechanic in the area. He owned and operated several automotive garages and service stations in the area before beginning his career at the Ford Lima Engine Plant where he was employed as a skilled trades machine repairman. He later became the UAW 1219 representative for the plant and then moved on to join the UAW staff as a statewide representative for Region 2B. He was also a 60-year member of the Sager Lodge No. 513, F. & A.M. in Lafayette, OH. His greatest joy was his family and working with his hands as he restored cars and built his cabin in the hills of Black Mountain, NC. He was always known for his helpfulness to others, his tenacity for solving problems, and his quick one liners.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rosemary; the mother of his children, Elsie Kantner (husband Jim), his children, Chip (wife Melissa), Ellen (wife Scarlett aka W.O.W.). Stepchildren: Amy (husband Bob), Charity, Christel (husband Nate); Elizabeth (husband Jesse). And more importantly to him, his grandchildren, Gabe, Madeline, Jayden, Isabella (husband David), Isaac, Emma, Olivia, Nash. And his two siblings: Jim and Loretta. He was predeceased in death by his previous wife Betty and siblings Clara, Barbara, and Floyd.
