Edward Florence

1967 - 2024

LIMA -- Edward "Tugg" Florence, 56 of Lima, passed away March 2, 2024, in Columbus. Tugg was born May 17, 1967 in Lima to Edward and Mary Lee (Chitman) Florence, who preceded him in death. Tugg grew up on the East Side of Lima and was a graduate of Lima Senior High School.

He loved music and dancing and he didn't know a stranger. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he always made people laugh. Tugg was incredibly uplifting and was like the SUN in how he could light up a room. His children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart. Most of all, Tugg loved being around people and he especially loved attending family gatherings.

Tugg is survived by his children, Madison Kohler, Edward Timothy White and Markee Spaulding; significant other, Vanesa White; grandchildren, Samara, Keemarionna, Kemarion, Keemari'An, Keemarra, Zai'den, Le'Rae, Le'Zail & AZ; siblings whom he loved dearly, Terry Lynn Florence, Dion Marcellus Florence, Nicole Olivia Florence, Maceo Valdez Florence, Jerrell Akeem Florence, Camille Ruth Shantell Florence, Stacee Eugenia Smart and Steve Vonn Smart; close friend, Gregory Houston and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his best friend, Jesse Commons.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on March 30, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Eastside Chapel with Steve Smart to officiate the service. Visitation will be held on March 30, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
