EUGENE BELLMAN
OTTAWA — Eugene V. Bellman, 69, of Ottawa, died 10:20 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2016 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.
He was born June 28, 1947 in Lima to the late Victor and Ruth (Maas) Bellman. On July 19, 1969 he married Karen VonderEmbse and she survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors are two sons: Kevin (Missi) Bellman of Ottawa and Jeremy (Gonzo Araya) Bellman of New York, NY; two grandchildren: Karlie and Zac Bellman; four brothers: William (Vicki) Bellman, Robert (Donna) Bellman, Michael (Judi) Bellman all of Ottawa and Tim (Darina) Bellman of Chandler, AZ; and three sisters: Joan (Dan) Byrne of Ottoville, Mary Ann (Tom) Duling of Ottawa and Cathy (Mike) Merna of Columbus.
Gene formerly worked for Ford Engine Plant in Lima, was the former owner of Bellman-Ford-Mercury in Ottawa and a partner in Bellman Properties. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of the Ottawa VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Ottawa Eagles, Lima Elks and Ottawa Knights of Columbus. Gene loved his family, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards with his friends and traveling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa VFW, American Legion and AMVETS.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m., Monday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa where a VFW service will begin at 7:00 p.m. and a K of C Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) or SS. Peter and Paul School Endowment Fund.

Thank you for your service.
Wishing you all peace, working with Jeremy and Gonzo have told us a lot about the spirit of the Bellman Family. We hope one day to meet all of you.
I know that Gene would be proud, we are so thankful for his service, his family and all the good thoughts and works left behind.

Joan, My condolences on the loss of your brother Gene. I remember him from Ford and bought several vehicles from him. Nice guy. Never easy losing a brother as I went through it.
