PANDORA - James L. Fischbach, 92, of Pandora, passed away at 5:03 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Hilty Home, Pandora. He was born February 2, 1930, in Ottoville to the late Peter Frank and Veronica Mary (Becker) Fischbach. On May 5, 1956, he married Mary Rita L. Hageman, she preceded him in death on October 24, 2016.
James is survived by four children: Bill (Karen) Fischbach of Pandora, Roseann Fischbach of Rawson, Paul Fischbach of Pandora, and Robert (Stephanie) Fischbach of Ottawa; two daughters-in-law: Jacqueline Fischbach of Bluffton and Jody Fischbach of Findlay; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Martha Fischbach of Ottoville.
He is preceded in death by two sons, Steve and Dennis Fischbach; a step-great-grandson, Ayden; three brothers, Eugene (Deloris) Fischbach, Gerald Fischbach, and Victor (Sharon) Fischbach; and an infant sister, Alice Fischbach.
James retired from Philips, Ottawa and was a lifelong farmer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. James was a member of the Ottawa K of C where he had been named Volunteer of the Year. He would also volunteer his time praying the rosary at Hilty Home.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. where there will be a K of C Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:50 p.m. and visitation again on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Putnam County Veterans Services
