LOVELAND -- James D. Fisher, 66, of Loveland, Ohio passed away peacefully at 11:30 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2025 at his residence in Loveland. He was born June 24, 1959 in Lima to Richard W. and Carolyn J. (Taylor) Fisher who preceded him in death.
On July 16, 1983, Jim married his college sweetheart, Louise Rosana Sid who survives him in Loveland.
A proud graduate of the Lima Senior High Class of 1977, Jim was active in high school in both sports and the arts. He was a member of the baseball and swim teams, as well as an active participant in choral groups, musicals and plays. He was a natural-born performer with a beautiful bass voice.
Jim continued his education at Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana where he attended on a swim scholarship. He was an active member and past president of the Kappa Sigma fraternity (Theta Xi Chapter) and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor's Degree in Transportation. His career in the freight industry spanned more than four decades, taking him to cities across the country, including Chicago, IL, Fort Wayne, IN, Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, and Pittsburgh, PA.
After winding down his career in transportation, Jim found joy in staying active -- working part-time as a sales associate at Home Depot and giving back to his community through his volunteer work with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Thomas More Parish in Bethel Park, PA. As a dedicated Vincentian, he helped lead efforts to support underprivileged families with scholarships and housing assistance. In Loveland, Jim was a friendly face at All Saints Parish, where he served as a greeter and loved getting to know those around him.
Jim will be warmly remembered for his laser-quick wit, contagious laugh and engaging sense of humor. He loyally cherished his family and friendships and spent hours regularly calling them all around the country to catch up and share a laugh. He was a lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and a long-suffering fan of the Cleveland Browns.
In addition to his beloved wife, Rosana, Jim is survived by his daughter, Andrea T. (Scott) Hutchinson of Cincinnati; his brother, Steven A. (Cynthia) Fisher, and sister, Peggy A. (Nicholas) Ehora, both of Lima; and his cherished grandson, Malcolm James Hutchinson. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Patricia (Chico) Sid de Silva and Josephine (Thomson) Lo, both of Macau, China, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Joseph MH Sid and Therese PS (Lee) Sid.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Parish, 8939 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236, followed by a brief committal service at Gates of Heaven Cemetery Chapel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Shawnee Chapel, 1170 Shawnee Road, Lima, Ohio.
