LIMA -- Jennifer Lynne Ernest, age 66 went to be with the Lord on the morning of January 5, 2022. She was born to Donald Davidson who preceded her in death and Betty Davidson who survives in Lima. She was born March 13, 1955, in Lima, Ohio. Jennifer graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1973. She later met her husband, Gary Ernest, whom she loved dearly for 46 years. Jennifer attended Lafayette First United Methodist Church, where she dedicated a lot of her time to the student ministries. She also was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. From being a girl scout leader, to the president of the Parent's Athletic Club for Bath Local Schools, to the biggest cheerleader and fan for any athletic event or choir concert she attended. When she wasn't cheering on her loved ones, she was relaxing by her garden pond, feeding the fish and watching her humming bird feeders. Jennifer loved to be around family and friends, and was usually the life of any party she attended. She truly was a jokester at heart, and she will be greatly missed by anyone who had the privilege to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Ernest of Lima; her mother, Betty Davidson; three children, Tami Goedde, Greg (Stephanie) Ernest, and Mike (Kelly) Ernest; six grandchildren, Blake, Alexis, Braxton, Beckham, Dylan, Maisie, and great grandchild, Carson Marie; siblings, Jeff (Helen) Davidson, Joe (Deb) Davison; siblings-in-law, Dave (Barb) Ernest, Jim Ernest, Steve (Anita) Ernest, Bob Ernest, and Ron (Karen) Ernest; as well as many other nieces, nephews and beloved family members.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Donald A. Davidson; as well as parents-in-law, Cloyce and Edna Ernest.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes Bluffton Chapel. Pastor Bob Clinger will officiate the service. Burial will be in Bluelick Cemetery following the service. A public visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette First United Methodist Church or to the Bath Township Fire Department.
