HARROD -- Jeralon "Jeri" M. Young, 91 of Harrod, was pronounced deceased at 12:44 AM on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Kessler Estates in Lima.
She was born July 14, 1934 in West Newton, Ohio to Harrison "Harry" and Gladys (McClung) Parker, who both preceded her in death. On October 27, 1956, she married R. Randall "Randy" Young, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2014.
Jeralon was a 1953 graduate of Alger High School, where she was a cheerleader. She then struck out on her own in Lima to secure employment while maintaining close ties to family and friends. After marriage, she was devoted to raising a family with Randall, and would find employment when practical. Her most recent employment was as a receptionist for Dr. John W. "Bill" Burke. The family attended church regularly, and Jeralon was a Sunday School Teacher for a time.
Once her children were raised, Jeralon was known as a meticulous housekeeper and enjoyed time with family and friends, reading, day trips with Randall, and involvement with the church, eventually as a member of Crossroads Church of God. As her family grew, she found the most joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Jody (Ted Salkin) Young of Healdsburg, CA; her two sons, Brian Young of Lima and Brent (Kim) Young of Huntsville, OH; her six grandchildren Garrett (Ben Douglas) Young, Justin Young, Kira Furrow, Abby (Ian Miller) Young, Ben Young and Quinn Young; her two great-grandsons Asher and Zaiden Furrow. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Carol Parker and Janet Young and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Gene Watts, Jerry and Russell Parker; her sisters Vondale and Ann; her in-laws Joyce Watts, Jim Johnson, Jim and Janice Crowe and Russell Young; and her daughter-in-law, Adaline Bridges.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

As the oldest (Miller of the Girls) I have sweet memories of Jeri. Not only from Dr. Burk's office where her calming voice and sweet smile always put you at ease. But also from Crossroads church.

I remember Jeri from Dr. Burke's office. They are probably sharing stories in heaven of Carl and June Miller's girls.
