JIM YOUNG
DELPHOS — Jim B. Young, 87, of Delphos, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015, at St.
Rita's Medical Center.
He was born on June 4, 1928, in Spencerville, to Clair and Hilda (Davenport) Young, both preceded him in death. On September 25, 1954 Jim was united in marriage to Mary "Helen" Stocklin who preceded him death on May 6, 2012.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia (David) Zwiebel of Wapakoneta, Mary Ann (Kim) Mitchner of Findlay, Kelly (Brian) Pancake of Van Wert and Jackie (Don) Fisher of Delphos; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters; Nelrose White and Joan Whitling, brothers; Jay and Jack Young.
Jim He was a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist and in maintenance for Continental Can and Sonoco Fiber Drum for 22 years, prior he worked at Hayes Albion for 19 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Spencerville and a member of the Spencerville VFW. Jim truly enjoyed camping with his wife and children. He also enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Services will begin on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Harter and Schier Memorial Chapel. Reverend David Howell will be officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Spencerville where the Spencerville Honor Guard will conduct military Grave side rites. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Memorial Chapel.
