GLANDORF - Joann M. Von Lehmden, 79, of Glandorf (formerly of Fort Jennings), passed away at 3:58 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2024 at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born January 21, 1944 in Lima to the late Hilary and Viola (Calvelage) Pohlman. On July 31, 1965, she married Eugene "Yogi" Von Lehmden. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2012
Other survivors include three children: Cheryl (Roger) Koch of Glandorf, Mark (Pamela) Von Lehmden of Naperville, IL and Brent (Cheryl) Von Lehmden of Fort Jennings; significant other, Melvin Nomina of Glandorf; nine grandchildren: Logan (Emily) Koch, Kelsey (Brad Wannemacher) Von Lehmden, Alex (Leah) Von Lehmden, Kialee (Nathan) Duling, Connor (Faith) Koch, Cody Von Lehmden, Alexa Koch, Piper Von Lehmden and Georgia Von Lehmden; and five great-grandchildren: Vivian, Lowen and Harper Koch, Quinn Duling, Nico Von Lehmden and one on the way.
Joann was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Von Lehmden and a sister, Patricia (Jim) Geckle.
Joann was a former treasurer for Fort Jennings Local Schools and held various other accounting positions. She also worked as a wedding videographer and longtime 4-H advisor. Joann was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings and the Glandorf Garden Club. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and sewing. Joann loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, as she was known for her sleepovers and homemade carnival games she made for them to enjoy.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Meadows of Ottawa and Putnam County Homecare and Hospice for their love and compassion shown to Joann and the family.
Funeral mass will begin 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, with a scripture service beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township and again on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Homecare and Hospice. Condolences may be expressed at www.lovefuneralhome.com.
