Send FlowersSPENCERVILLE -- Judith "Judy" A. Abbott, 85, of Spencerville, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2025 at Vancrest of Delphos in Delphos.
Judy was born on February 5, 1940 in Spencerville to the late Lester and Adeline (King) Plikerd. She grew up in Spencerville and graduated from Spencerville High School in 1958. Shortly after graduating, Judy was united in marriage to Robert Lawrence Abbott, who passed away on August 26, 1995. Judy spent 24 years working for Spencerville Middle School as their secretary and payroll clerk.
Judy was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #6772 Auxiliary, member of the American Legion Post #191 Auxiliary, and Order of the Eastern Star #130. While in the Order of the Eastern Star, she served as Worthy Matron in 1966 and again in 2005. She enjoyed baking, word searches, and jigsaw puzzles. She was passionate about her cats and rings. Judy loved to laugh about being born on her moms birthday because she would tell her mom that she was a present that her mom could never return or take back.
Judy is survived by her two nieces, Rachel (Bryan) Sipe of Mendon and Laura Lyle of Spencerville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; daughter Nikki J. Abbott; and brother, Wesley (Dorothea) Plikerd and sister, Janet Taylor.
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with an Order of the Eastern Star service starting at 11:00 a.m. and her funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with paster Mark Fuerstenau officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery.

With sympathy for your loss. Such a sweet lady. I enjoyed talking to her while visiting my Dad at Roselawn. She remembered all 4 of my children. Rest in peace.
