JUDY SHELLENBERGER
WOOSTER — Judy A. Shellenberger, age 78 of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2015 at her residence following a decline with Alzheimer's. She was surrounded by her family.
She was born in Canton, Ohio on October 11, 1937 to Ernest W. and Mildred (Balzer) Chapman and has been an area resident for most of her life. She had also been a resident of the Lima, Oh. area.
She married Jack Shellenberger on October 21, 1956 in Wooster. He survives.
She previously worked as a Librarian with the Wayne County Public Library for many years; was a member of the First Church Of God in Wooster where she was also involved with Mountain Vision Ministries.
She enjoyed dancing; and belonged to the Triway Capers for many years. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Janelle (Keith) Marcum of Shreve, Oh., Joleen (Steve) Finn of Clarksville, TN. and Jerelyn (Ray) Hofstetter of Kidron, Oh.; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandra "Sandy" Brinkerhoff of Wooster.
Her parents died previously.
Memorial services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. at First Church Of God in Wooster with Pastor Arnie Kaufman officiating.
Visitation will take place one hour prior ( 10:00 - 11:00 a.m) to services at the church. It was her wishes there be a private interment at the convenience of the family.
The family will also greet friends following the services at the church for a luncheon.
Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., in Wooster is honored with serving the family.
