LIMA -- Karen Marie Riggsby, age 77, was called into the presence of the Lord at 12:57 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at her home with the love of her family by her side.
Karen was born July 4, 1946, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Richard R. and Pauline A. (Dull) Cox. She married Thomas D. "Danny" Riggsby, on July 25, 1992, who survives in Cincinnati.
Karen was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. She loved working for the Benton Ridge Telephone Company / Watch TV, retiring after 25 years of service. She had been a room mom at Allen East Schools, worked in the cafeteria, and volunteered with the Allen East Band, helping with uniforms. A "Seamstress Extraordinaire", Karen loved making blankets for her children, and grandchildren. She loved to bake and indulge her family with her delicious treats. Karen enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, and woodworking. She and her husband, Danny made beautiful patriotic American flags. Above all, Karen was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma who loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed watching Sunday football and golf with "Her Boys".
She is survived by her husband, Thomas D. "Danny" Riggsby of Batavia; three children, Brian D. (Annette) Colley of Cincinnati; Scott A. Colley of St. Augustine, FL, and Amanda Marie (Eric) Monger of Cincinnati; two stepchildren, Donna (Craig) Schomer of Delaware, and Joseph (Jodi) Riggsby of Marysville; ten grandchildren, D.J. Colley, Dacey S. (Steven) Kohlhoff, Calli Jo (Chris Motter) Colley, Ella Monger, Maya Monger, Zach Schomer, Samantha Schomer, Chloe Riggsby, J.J. Riggsby, Jr., and Maddie (Madison) Riggsby Oelker, five great-grandchildren, Ashton, Kennedy, and Tieler Kohlhoff, and Abel, and Jensen Motter; four sisters, Marlene Wills, Nadine (Glen) Twining, Janet (John ) Zuercher, and Kathleen "Kathy" Hattery.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Taffy Marie Colley; brother, Dale Eugene Cox; three sisters, Lois Burgan, Patricia Cox, Lynne Cox; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Wills, and Tom Hattery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. Rev. Lori Wright will officiate the service. A burial of cremated remains will take place in Allentown Cemetery at a later date.

Brian and Scott, sorry for your loss and the rest of your family.. My family used to your neighbors in Lafayette, and I was your former babysitter. Anytime I visited Lima, I tried my best to see your Mom when I could. She was a great person and missed you all when we moved.
