KAY BOWSHER
TOLEDO — Dr. Kay R Bowsher, 78, passed away June 15, 2015, at 10:43 pm, at her residence in Toledo.
Kay was born March 2, 1937 in Ft.Wayne, IN, to Brandon and Esther (Brown) Bowsher who preceded her in death.
Kay was a former member of South Side Christian Church of Lima, and New Hope Christian Church, of Holland. She was a graduate of Lima Central High School 1955; Ohio State University B.S. in Medical Technology in 1959; Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, GA. (now Life University) in 1981. Kay worked as a Medical Technologist: Ohio University Hospital, Columbus, OH. ; Mansfield General Hospital, Mansfield, OH.; Harper Hospital, Detroit, MI.; Wyandotte General Hospital, Wyandotte, MI.; Windy Hill Hospital, Marietta, GA.; as a Chiropractor had an office in Lima, Toledo and Findlay. She was a member of Floral City Rebekah Lodge #55 of Monroe, MI., Past Noble Grand of two lodges and Past President of District #7 of Michigan Rebekah Assembly; the Ohio State Chiropractic Association and it's districts #1 & #7; board member of the Lima Area Food Bank; Lima Soroptimists; Findlay Business & Professional Women's Association; Past President Big 4 Reunion (Bowsher-Delong-Mowery-Reichelderfer), and family Historian. Her hobbies were making Christmas decorations for family and friends; travel around the United States and Europe; genealogy; contributing to the publishing of the Bowsher family genealogy; member of First Families of Allen Co., OH., and First Families of Muskingum Co., OH.
Survivors include: Brother, Joseph C. (Tina) Bowsher of Lima, OH, four nieces and nephews, Dr. Robin (Keith) Kohli of Fishers, IN, Lori (Travis) Kerzee of Powell, OH, Emily Bowsher of Lima, OH, Blair Bowsher of Columbus, OH, six great nieces and nephews, Meghan Kohli, Jared Kohli, Cole Wilson, Alexis Bowsher, Ethan Kerzee, Nathan Kerzee, two dear friends, Dr. Cynthia Ratkowski, Marge Majchrowski.
Friends may call Sunday, July 26, 2015 at South Side Christian Church from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Services will be held Sunday, July 26, 2015 at South Side Christian Church at 4:00 pm. Rev. Wanda Werking to officiate the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Area Food Bank, South Side Christian Church porte chochere fund or donor's wish.
