LIMA -- Kent Duane Drew (aka "Drew" sometimes "Mr. Grumpy"), 52, of Lima, passed away suddenly on his next adventure with his partner for life, Lyndon Orlando Alcid, in Mooresville, NC on Sunday, June 30, 2024. He was born November 26, 1971, in Ottawa to the late Howard R. and Lunda J. (McCurdy) Drew.
Kent is survived by his partner for life, Lyndon Orlando Alcid of Lima, Ohio and Windsor, Ontario, Canada; three siblings: Kimberly (Tim) Steedman of Northwood, Lisa (Ann Penney) Schnipke of Ottawa and Scot (Anja Reinberg-Drew) Drew of Wilsonville, Oregon; and his best friends: Melissa (Charlie) Byard of Columbus and Chris (Joy) Keesler of West Leipsic.
In addition to his parents, Kent is also preceded in death by his friend, Shane Blankenship.
Kent was an Overhead Crane Operator for KMI Manufacturing, Inc., Kalida. He previously worked for a Comedy Club, Health Care Facility, and the former Philips, Ottawa. Kent loved to travel and enjoyed new adventures locally, out of state and internationally. He was an avid collector of smashed pennies and unique magnets. Kent was a foodie with a focus on hidden gems and challenged himself to make new recipes. He was a huge fan of trivial TV shows, such as
Password, Jeopardy and the ultimate go-to, Ghosts on CBS. Kent was deeply loved and will be missed by many.
Funeral service will begin 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
