He was also a member of Lima Fraternal Order of Eagles Aiere #370. He served proudly for many years on the Board of the Samaritan House in Lima.
He loved life and lived it to the fullest from an early age. At 16 years of age, he spent a summer driving with the Mustang Hell Drivers Thrill Show alongside the famous Joie Chitwood. He also raced at the Wayne Trail Dragway where he won his class in the early 1970's. For many years he ran in the demolition derby at the Allen and Auglaize County Fairs in cars always bearing his beloved number 13C.
