SPENCERVILLE -- Landen "Lew" "Landoe" L. McCormick, 17, passed away on December 3, 2022, at 9:59 am, at Lima Memorial Health System.

Landen was born September 11, 2005 in Lima, OH, to Rodney and Christina "Tina" (Allen) McCormick who both survive in Spencerville, OH.

Landen attended Spencerville High School and Apollo Career Center. He was currently studying in the Construction Equipment Technology field. Landen loved playing football. He played for the Lima Steelers and was nicknamed "Shotime" from his father. Landen also played football for Lima City Schools at Lima West Middle School. He thoroughly enjoyed Friday Night Lights with the Spencerville Bearcats. He excelled in sports, along with football he played baseball and basketball. Landen liked being outside, riding four wheelers and target shooting with his father. He was very energetic and had a huge heart. He encouraged so many of his friends to do more. Landen was the life of the party and loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with all his family members.

Landen is survived by his parents, Rodney and Christina "Tina" (Allen) McCormick both of Spencerville, OH, siblings, Brittney McCormick of Cridersville, OH, Brett McCormick of Spencerville, OH, Breeanna McCormick of Spencerville, OH, Kayden Goodwin - McCormick of Spencerville, OH, special friend, Hailey Schulien of Spencerville, OH, aunts and uncles, Butch (Joyce) McCormick of Lima, OH, Mary Jo McCormick of Cridersville, OH, Helen McCormick of Los Angeles, CA, Dave Dameron of Lima, OH, Mark Taylor of Wapakoneta, OH, Casey (Carla) McCormick of Lima, OH, Marsha (Don) Mangin of Lima, OH, Rikki Hatton of Spencerville, OH, Tami Allen of IA, Richard "Chip" (Sherry) Allen of Lima, OH, Chad (Emily) Allen of Hamilton, OH, numerous cousins, nephews, Milo and Zion McCormick of Lima, OH.

He is preceded in death by his unborn child, aunts and uncles, Debra Dameron, Karen Taylor, Mike Hatton, Monte McCormick, Connie Suiter, paternal-grandmother, Carolyn (Dixon) McCormick, maternal-grandfather, Dick Allen and maternal-grandmother, Nancy (Watkins) Allen.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 1:00pm at Chiles - Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Darryl Potts to officiate the service. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the services at Spencerville Nazarene Church, 317 W North Street, Spencerville, OH 45887.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Shawnee Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Allen County CASA, 234 N Main Street, Lima, OH 45801, the Good News Club or Guys With Ties through the Spencerville School System or any other organizations that help children.
