Send FlowersDELPHOS -- Larry A. Deitering, 80, of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Delphos. He was born December 9, 1944, in Lima to Joseph and Loretta (Murray) Deitering. On July 2, 1966, he married Diane S. Brenner, who preceded him in death on June 10, 2020.
Larry is survived by his three sons: Larry (Marla) Deitering of Findlay, Scott (Nicole) Deitering of Ottoville and Kevin (Jackie) Deitering of Fort Jennings; nine grandchildren: Meagan (Brandon) Brewer, Tyler (Julie) Deitering, Michael Deitering, Andrew, Audra, Austin and Aaron Deitering, and Blake and Graham Gibbs; and two great-grandchildren: Brynnlee Brewer and Clarke Deitering.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danika Deitering; and five siblings: Mary Anne McKinsey, Nova Suever, Joseph Deitering, Marlene Kill and David Deitering.
Larry retired from Whemco, formerly known as Teledyne Ohio Steel, Lima. He was the former baseball coach for Delphos Minor and City League Baseball Teams. His number one passion was putting up his Christmas display. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also a huge fan of the Delphos St. John's Blue Jays. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2025, at St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos with Father Tony Vera officiating. Burial will follow in New Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos. Visitation will be held 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Monday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township. There will be a wake service beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Catholic School, Delphos. Condolences may be expressed at www.lovefuneralhome.com.
