Linda Sheets

1949 - 2021

LIMA — Linda Joleen Sheets passed away on February 6, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born in Lima on August 10, 1949, to Robert Oard and Eileen (Cook) Oard, who preceded her in death. On September 27, 1969, she married Mike Sheets, who survives in Lima. Linda is survived by her children: Tracy Meagher, Michelle (Ralph) Cole, and Michael (Sarah) Sheets, a brother Tom (Barb) Oard, 4 sisters: Nancy (Gary) Teagle, Sally (John) Maag, Julie (Joe) Ray, and Kathy (Roger) Conkle, a brother-in-law Dennis Sheets, 3 sisters-in-law: Patty Goodnight, Sharon Newland, and Debbie McBride, her beloved grandchildren: Thomas Meagher, Eileen Baker, Andrew Sheets, and Lauren Sheets. She was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law Paul and Margaret Sheets, a brother-in-law Scott Goodnight, special aunt Marcene Cook, and nephew Jonathan Ray. Linda was a 1967 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at So Fro Fabrics, Scot Lad, and St. Gerard School. Linda was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church. She was devoted most of all to her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for social justice and women's rights. She was a force of nature. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10:00 am at the St. Gerard's Catholic Church. Officiating the mass will be Fr. Mike Sergi. Burial of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where a parish wake service will follow the visitation on Friday at 8:00 p.m..
