SUNBURY -- Margaret Call Erbe, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio July 1, 1942, to the late Merner and Lois (ne Bennett) Call. Maggie displayed incredible talent and energy, which includes her time as a concert pianist in a professional orchestra as a child. Her passion for music, science, and spirituality, led to a life filled to the brim. She received a BA in Music History, an Associates in Chemistry, and a Master of Divinity, across 3 different decades while birthing and raising her 10 children.
Maggie had careers as a pianist, piano teacher, chemist, and manufacturing supervisor, prior to seminary and serving as a Pastor in the United Methodist Church. To those who knew Maggie, she was outgoing, loving, and intense. She loved the brightness of color and lit up a room when she entered. In addition to her large family, Maggie touched so many lives, making a profound impact through her mothering, ministry, and counseling. She was accepting of all, including encouraging her children to accept their own uniqueness, and that of others. Maggie lived life to an extent that was unmatched and brought a sense of awe to those around her. Her most significant legacy is an example for young women to be strong, fiercely independent, and passionate leaders. She was truly an amazing woman who will forever be loved and deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her 10 children, along with a score of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a younger sister, and countless friends who will certainly continue to spread her legacy. Private services will be held in Maggie's honor.
