HARROD - Marilyn Lee Hesser, age 81 of Harrod, passed Friday evening, October 17,
2025.
She was born July 21, 1944, in Lima, Ohio to the late Paul J. and Marva Jacobs Miller. On October 25, 1969, she married William Charles 'Charlie' Hesser, who passed November 28, 2022.
Marilyn graduated from Perry High School and later pursued a career as a beautician. She took great joy in helping her son, Ricky, run Big Owl's Pizza - a place that was not just a business but gathering of community, laughter, and her storytelling. She was known for her gift of gab, often jokingly called "Chatty Cathy," and truly never met a stranger. Her conversations could brighten anyone's day, and she had an unmatched ability to make people feel welcomed.
A proud homebody with a love for the simple pleasures, Marilyn was an avid game show enthusiast, rarely missing a spin of the wheel or a correct trivia answer. She had a soft spot for classic Westerns and a not-so-secret TV crush on Blake Shelton - tuning into The Voice was a highlight of her week.
She is survived by a son – Ricky A. (Melisa) Hesser of Cridersville; a daughter – Ruth Ann Hesser of Lima; 5 grandchildren – Marie (Eric); Megan (Matt); Caytlin (Logan); Levi (Shay); Andrew; 10 great grandchildren – Madison; Laci; Wyatt; Charlie; Maverick; Stryker; Ryken; Gatlin; Ranyer and Laelynn; a brother – Paul (Myrna) Miller of Florida. She was preceded in death by a great grandson – O'Rielly and a sister – Barbara "Joann" Ell.
A private family service will be held at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Condolences may be shared athttps://www.bayliffandson.com/
