LIMA -- Marilyn Sue Shankland, passed away on November 4, 2025, at The Springs of Lima. She passed peacefully to go be with the Lord. Marilyn was born March 30, 1941, in Lima, OH, to Lee J. and Henrietta M. (McKanna) Robinson, who preceded her in death. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Dr. Wesley E. Shankland.
Marilyn Sue has 2 surviving sons, Bruce Lee Willis of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Michael Paul Willis of Lima, Ohio, and her baby sister, Velma Jane DeMarco of Lima, Ohio. Marilyn Sue also has 2 surviving step son's, Keith Shankland of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dr. Wesley E. Shankland II of Columbus, Ohio. Marilyn Sue loved her Ohio State Buckeye's football and being outside in the sun. She also loved her rose gardens, reading, and gardening. She will be sadly missed, but we know the Lord called her home.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, located at 3000 Harding Highway, Lima, OH 45804. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the mausoleum. Officiating the service will be Rev. Andrew Shields. The Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, is honored to be assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
The family asks that if you are wanting to memorialize Marilyn's memory, in lieu of flowers, please purchase a tree in her memory from legacy.com. If you would rather still order flowers, please have them sent to the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum on the day of the service, arriving at 11:45 am.

To all of Mrs. Shankland's family, I am very sorry for your loss. I had only met Mrs. Shankland a few times as Dr. Shankland was our doctor almost forever. She was a very lovely and gracious lady. Both she and Doc were always a pleasure to be around.
