CRIDERSVILLE -- Marjoirie E. Burns, age 90, of Cridersville passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at home. She was born July 19, 1935, in Lima to the late Laurence Elmer and Gladys Evelyn (Barnum) Stombaugh. She married Harry Edward Burns in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1967.
She had attended Southside Christian Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and the Lima Eagles. Marjorie had begun her working career at the age of 13 working at Newberry 5 & 10 until she married. She had also been a carhop, worked at King Burger and the Huddle. She also worked at Ex-Cello, the Better Business Bureau, JC Penney, Betty Brite Laundry and later went to Auto Owners where she worked for 30 years in Underwriting. She also worked at Meijer for 20 years. She just found it hard to retire.
Survivors include sons: Danny E. (Catherine) Burns of Texas and Scott A (Brenda) Burns of Cridersville, a grandson Erik I. Burns of Texas.
She was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey A. Burns in 2010 and a sister Mary Lou Wells.
Private services have been held, and burial of cremated remains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Lima.
