SIDNEY -- Melinda A. Utendorf passed away January 10, 2024 in her husbands arms with her mother and fur babies by her side.
She was born April 13, 1982 to James and Vanessa (Verhoff) Karcher who survive. On May 16, 2009 she married Allen J. Utendorf who also survives. She graduated from Columbus Grove High School, class of 2000, and Bowling Green State University.
Melinda started her career in HR at The Right Thing and worked for various companies including Dream Jobs and F-Tech. Her passions in life were Allen, her puppies, her kitties and reading. She then decided to put her English degree and love for reading to use and started her own editing business, M. Ute Editing, specializing in the romance genre.
Melinda was a stubborn, strong-willed child, teenager, and even more so as an adult. She met a man who appreciated these qualities and married him. Melinda and Allen were totally devoted to each other and made a very happy life raising their fur babies. She loved to travel doing much of it with friends but sometimes dragging her home body husband along including to Jamaica recently.
In addition to her husband and parents, Melinda is survived by her brother, Tony, her mother-in-law Carol Utendorf, brothers-in-law, Dan Utendorf, Randy (Heather) Utendorf, Kevin (Stephanie) Utendorf, nieces and nephews Autymn, Blaine, Wyatt, Owen, Jocelyn, Korryn, Amanda, and Archer. Melinda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Phyllis Verhoff and Ron and Lucinda Karcher.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 1:00-3:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 518 W. Sycamore St. Columbus Grove, OH 45830.
