Michael Bowman

1971 - 2025

LIMA -- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael J. Bowman, age 53, who passed away on April 2, 2025.

Michael was born on October 24, 1971 in Bluffton, OH to Johnie E. and Betty (Boyd) Bowman. His father preceded him in death on January 21, 2025, and his mother, Betty, survives him.

Everyone who knew Michael knew that he loved his occupation. Michael worked at Allen County Fabrication for over 25 years, and they became like his second family. He was forever grateful for their guidance, teaching, and support. He currently worked at PPG Welding & Fabrication and he loved that as well. Outside of work, he loved to fish, kayak, trap snapping turtles, fly drones and go to rock concerts. He loved all animals, especially his cat, Shadow, also known to him as "Fatty". He was passionate about his family and his family history. He would often say that he was "just a Bowman" but being a Bowman signified his giving heart and selfless character. He had the biggest heart, willing to help anyone in need, and never casting any judgment. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He will forever be remembered as a true family man. Michael will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Anna Bowman, his daughters, Kaylee (Layne) Chamberlain and Cassie Bowman, his son, Mick (Kayla) Bowman and many other children whom he treated as his own, his sister, Tammy (Steve) Waldron, his brother, Ron (Anne) Bowman, his foster sister, Shalonda Scott, his godson, Jayvyn Scott, and Jamari Scott, his grandchildren, Lilah Bowman, Mara Bowman, Annie Bowman, Aurora Chamberlain, Sylas Chamberlain, Braxtin Bowman, Elijah Singhaus, and Saylor Singhaus, his nieces, Jennifer (Shawn) Algire, Brittany (Ryan) Powell, Courtney Waldron, and Chelsea (Tim) Barnett, his aunts, Bernice Richards, Pam Bowman, Ruth Smolen, and Aunt Ida, his uncles Lenny and Al and many cousins.

In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his sisters, Lisa & Laura Bowman, his paternal grandparents, Walter & Mildred Bowman, his maternal grandparents, William & Ruth Boyd, and his uncles, Damon, Paul, & Jerry Bowman.

Services will be held on April 7, 2025, at 7:00 pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home - Eastside Chapel. Pastor Eli Yoder will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on April 7, 2025, from 10:00AM-12:00PM and again from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
