LIMA -- Michael P. Dorley, age 72 of Lima, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at 2:27 p.m. at his residence.
Mike was born December 5, 1950 in Lima to Patrick and Mary (McAuliffe) Dorley who preceded him in death. On November 21, 1970 he married Diane Clancy Dorley who preceded him in death on June 14, 2012.
Survivors include their children: Dan (Michael) Dorley and Angie (Marc) Bowker both of Lima and Mike C. Dorley of Dayton; grandsons: Conner (Courtney) Bowker, Ethan Bowker and Kevin Bowker; and his siblings: Sheila Baldwin of Atlanta, GA, Trish (Joe) Edd of Charlotte, NC, Monica Doorley of Lima, Maureen Dorley of Rochester, NY, and a sister-in-law, Tania Dorley of Ottawa, Canada. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by their son, Doug A. Dorley, the following siblings, Anne M. Dorley, Tim Dorley, and a niece Mara Baldwin.
Mike had been a pipefitter for Local #776 for 40 years. He was a 1969 graduate of L.C.C. High School. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a volunteer at St. Charles School cafeteria and St. Charles Church for the funeral luncheons. He had also been an usher at The Civic Center.
His Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023 at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Friday, from 2-8 p.m., at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, where a Parish Wake Service will begin at 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Foundation, 201 Chicago Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55415-1126, St. Charles Elementary School or Lima Central Catholic High School.

Mike was the 1st person I met at LCC when I transferred from Mansfield St Pete's in Oct 1967 and he paved the way for me for a very welcomed transition...I will never forget that act of kindness but then, that's how Mike was with everyone...tlak about a legacy! Best Michael-Mike Snyder

I know we never got to know you personally- just at Edd- Dorley weddings but from listening to stories Trish told me about you I know you were a good brother, husband and father. I´m sure there will be a hole missing without your presence but memories of you will keep you alive in their hearts.
